Frequently Asked Question
What user documentation should I provide with my POS?
Last Updated a year ago
For both the purpose of accreditation and for end users convenience applicants user documentation must provide requested documentation with their POS:
- Product brochure (website with commercial description of your product) - Represents the product in illustration (mandatory in case of hardware), containing the description and summary of its functionality. The purpose of verification is to assure that supplier is not advertising different product than the one submitted for accreditation. Tax Authority has to acknowledge the existence of this document and get familiar with the product (subject of accreditation) through its content.
- User manual - Reviewer must assure that all relevant functionalities are covered with description. Tax Authority will later assess whether the information is accurate or not. The content of user manual must include minimum:
- Information about the supplier – contact email, website, etc.;
- Declaration of the software and hardware (if applicable) version;
- Description and configuration of the product (its functional characteristics)
- Safety requirements and warnings (including attention that POS will not produce receipts without communicating with E-SDC and/or V-SDC);
- Programming system parameters (e.g. setting up tax rates, naming cashiers, setting various system options);
- Sale operations (registration of sales, refunds, other receipt types, production of reports, etc.);
- Use and operation of peripheral devices, if any;
- Description of error messages and troubleshooting;
- Installation guideline - This document represents guideline for technical installation of the product. Installation guide is acceptable to be as a part of user manual.
- List of the necessary items to be used during the E-SDC installation;
- Description of all activities (preferable in steps) that will bring E-SDC to its operative mode;
- Warnings that can cause damage to the product itself or operating system in case of software installation, as well as any cause of injuries that may occur to the installer.
4. Programming Guide:
- Detailed description for an end-user on how to connect the POS with the E-SDC and/or V-SDC;
- Programming operational parameters (PLUs, price change, etc.);
- Detailed description for an end-user on how to install, configure and input a Secure Element into the POS
NOTE: User documentation is not required when applying for the non-transferrable accreditation type.
