Frequently Asked Question
Do you have a summary of the Accreditation Authorities' requirements for POS components in each country?
Last Updated 6 months ago
Tax jurisdictions don’t have specific legislation regarding POS components/peripherals.
In each country, the POS is required to perform the same basic tasks:
- receive input from the cashier.
- submit invoice requests to an SDC service (which fiscalizes the invoice data), via the standardized communication protocol.
- receive invoice response (fiscalized invoice data) from the SDC, via the standardized communication protocol.
- issue invoice to the customer (printing, digital or electronic) – this is the only part that is additionally regulated, as jurisdictions prescribe when printing invoices is mandatory or optional.
The use of peripherals/components depends on each vendor’s implementation. They have to make sure their product can complete all the above tasks. In their application for accreditation, they have to note the peripherals/components that the product uses.
